Gabriele's Bio

 Ethiopian-born and Italian-raised Gabriele Guma, is a professional dancer (formerly with Philadanco) , educator, musician and songwriter . His life experiences and cultural background have shaped Gabriele into a versatile guitarist and songwriter who uses the guitar as his second language and sings about matters of the heart and stories of his unique yet relatable journey.

He plays many styles of music from blues to rock, reggae to R&B fusion to metal with passion and honesty drawing influences from Jimi Hendrix to Steve Vai, Carlos Santana to Miles Davis, Living Colour, Slash and Tom Morrello to classical composers into his own signature riffs , unique sound and passionate solos while displaying a very energetic physical live performance. With a style that is constantly evolving Gabriele is driven by an ambition to reach new musical heights and the desire to tell his unique story.

Gabriele is best known as lead guitarist and front man of his own Philly based rock/soul band GAB GUMA & Tangible Truth , hip hop group Tangled Thoughts and hip hop/rock band GrindCity .

Now, Gabriele is enjoying his journey as a solo artist as well as being a member of his comic book rock band StereoTytans . Gabriele likes to occasionally pay homage to Jimi Hendrix by doing a tribute act as a labor of love called Gab Hendrix & The Gypsy Eyes.

As a professional guitarist Gabriele has toured with artists like Hip hop/soul legend Ms. Lauryn Hill along with also legendary bassist Doug Wimbish , Grammy Award-Winning band Living Colour and N.E.R.D.

His wide musical range allowed him to also share the stage with major artists of all genres including Nas, Method Man, Nas, Mob Deep, Ciara, Kindred & the Family Soul , Take 6,  Wayna, Syleena Johnson, Eric Gales, Silvertide , Marc Rizzo (of Soulfly), Carol Riddick, Bryant Pugh and Floetry to name a few. 

He has recorded with ethiopian singers Hana Shenkute and Grammy nominated R&B singer Waina, legendary soul singer Freddie Jackson, jazz violinist and singer extraordinaire Owen Fiidla Brown, famed DJ and spoken word artis Rich Medina, Grammy Award-winning producers such as Sean Bryant , Bonnie Milner , Danny Bernini, three time Ammy winner Bill Jolly and many others.
